Daisy Ridley, known for playing Rey in the latest Star Wars trilogy, has expressed interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She revealed that she’s open to the idea of being part of the MCU, especially if given the chance to join the Avengers.
Ridley mentioned that her friend, Matthew Sharp, a second AD working on the Avengers movies, has even texted her about the possibility. When asked, Ridley quickly responded with ‘absolutely’ if Marvel were to reach out.
In addition to her Star Wars role, Ridley is a fan of many films, including superhero ones. She also shared her love for Batman and The Penguin in her interview while promoting her latest film, Cleaner. This shows her broad interest in different genres of film, which might make her a versatile addition to the MCU if she decides to join.
In the world of Star Wars, Ridley’s upcoming movie, Jedi Order, has faced some shifts in its development. Recently, George Nolfi was brought in as a new writer, replacing Steven Knight, who left the project last October. Prior to Knight, there were other writers attached, including Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson. Despite these changes, Lucasfilm remains focused on expanding Rey Skywalker’s story.
Meanwhile, Star Wars has some exciting developments elsewhere. Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks for a new standalone movie under director Shawn Levy. Although details about his role remain secret, this project is separate from the Skywalker Saga. If Gosling officially joins, it could speed up production on the movie, which may start as early as this fall.
So, while Ridley might soon have a Marvel adventure in the future, there’s also a lot happening in the Star Wars universe with her and others involved.
