Dino Crisis just made an unexpected comeback

Finally, Dino Crisis fans can now play the two original games in all their glory without having to use alternate methods.

The best way you can describe the Dino Crisis series, at least with the first game released in 1999, is that it’s like Resident Evil but with dinosaurs. While the sequel is a fantastic game, it shifted from survival horror into something a lot more action-orientated but it’s still beloved nonetheless.

That being said, the less said about the series after Dino Crisis 2, the better. However, that’s not to say Dino Crisis fans haven’t been calling for Capcom to release a new game on modern consoles or remake them, because they most certainly have.

While we patiently wait for Capcom to grant the wishes of fans by treating us to a new Dino Crisis game, we’ve been given the next best thing with the original two games being re-released on PC.

Last year, PC gaming platform GOG worked with Capcom to release the original Resident Evil trilogy. While these were the games in the purest form, they looked extra crisp on modern monitors and were compatible with a game controller as well as a keyboard and mouse.

For years, the original Resident Evil trilogy was unplayable on PC (at least officially) due to them not being compatible with modern operating systems, so when GOG changed all that by releasing this beloved trilogy without the need for a launcher and being DRM-free, it delighted Resident Evil fans worldwide.

Now, GOG has worked with Capcom once more by giving the first two Dino Crisis games the same treatment. For a modest price of £15.29 (£7.65 per game), you can download and keep Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on your PC hard drive forever.

Best of all, you do not need any PC launcher to play them, which is one of the best selling points of purchasing games from GOG.

No doubt fans will be hoping that by having the original Resident Evil trilogy and the first two Dino Crisis games on PC, we might one day get modern console ports too. After all, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut and Dino Crisis are already available on PS5 and PS4.
