Here is all you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, its endings and more on how exactly to unlock them.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been out for less than a week, and players have already managed to finish the entire game, uncovering all of its little secrets. There is no doubt Shadows borrows a lot from modern RPGs, incorporating things such as multiple-choice dialogue trees and more.
This naturally begs the question, does Assassin’s Creed Shadows have multiple endings? After all, both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla have had them – but the recent Mirage didn’t, which is quite the conundrum.
Are there different endings in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

The answer is yes, but it’s a bit complicated. Shadows takes a linear approach toward its storytelling, and the choices you make in most dialogues have little effect on your progression. The endings are also progressively placed, meaning that one ending leads to another.
Both Naoe and Yasuke have their own plots, which can be progressed independently of each other. There are also side quests (don’t forget romances), which must be completed in order to unlock the epilogue.

Yasuke’s ending is a bit more complicated and a fair bit more lengthy. Complete these 3 quests in order to proceed:
Dark waves, black ships
My name is Yasuke
The path he walks
Next, players will be tasked with completing a few Templar quests. Complete them in order to unlock Yasuke’s ending.
How to get Naoe’s ending
Players will need to complete all four of Naoe’s quests, (the Assassin Outpost quests are optional) in order to unlock ‘The Meaning of The Blade’. Meet the Horseman after you complete these 4 quests:
Before the fall
Wolves and foxes
Secrets of the blade
The meaning of the blade
Confront Hanzo. Neither option changes the progression though – and a set of credits should start rolling.

To progress through this ending, players will simply have to eliminate all marked Shibakufu targets. This is part of your standard campaign, and it shouldn’t really take too long to complete this quest (in any order).
Complete the final two quests in the order of The Two-Faced > The Horseman. Once all the quests are completed, players will now have to finish off Yasuke and Naoe’s individual storylines.
How to unlock the epilogue
The epilogue cannot be accessed until the credits roll. In order to progress through the epilogue, make sure to complete Junjiro’s quests (all of them). Wait until the final quest, ‘Out of The Shadows’ appears.
Speak with Tomiko and begin the epilogue, which unlocks a set of Master Assassin gear for Naoe. Players can also unlock the epilogue after they have beaten the main campaign, so there is no need to rush.
