Everybody’s favourite pirate assassin is back and it is safe to say that fans did not see this one coming.
Introduced in 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Edward Kenway cemented himself as one of the most loved assassins in the Ubisoft series.
Thanks to his Welsh charm, swashbuckler antics and connections to Assassin’s Creed III’s Connor, Edward is as loved today as he was over a decade ago.
Despite fans calling out for a Black Flag remaster, it would seem as though Ubisoft is hard at work on developing its next entry, Assassin’s Creed Shadows instead, so until then, this upcoming release should make things a bit easier.
Announced by VIZ Media, fans will get to dive back into Edward’s trials and tribulations in the upcoming sequel to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple is a comic which welcomes back our pirate assassin as he returns to take a leap of faith in an all-new adventure.
“The high-seas hunt is on for a long-lost treasure left by Those Who Came Before,” the official synopsis reads.
“But this time, The Templars aren’t the only ones after the prize. Join history’s most cunning pirate in an epic journey around the Chinese Sea.”
As he sails across the mysterious waters of South Asia, he will find all manner of hidden secrets and untold treasures.
Up until now, Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple has only been available to read digitally but now it will be released in a manga format in Fall 2025.
“I didn’t see this one coming,” Twitter user WinspearUltimate admitted.
Another said, “Wooo! Something canon for the GOAT.”
Who knows? If this manga is successful, maybe it could be adapted into an anime series one day…
