Not only does he follow, but he also helps dispatch enemies that attack you, essentially behaving like a genuine companion.

The only downside is that Preston won’t talk to you.

If you’re not a big Preston fan, that likely won’t be a problem.

Fans who already knew about this detail also revealed that such a trick proves useful when you’re attempting to keep your kill count at zero.
