I don’t want to be the person that has to remind you that Fallout 5 isn’t landing any time soon but alas, that task has fallen to me.
Bethesda is assumedly full steam ahead on The Elder Scrolls VI.
The studio was focused on Starfield and its first expansion Shattered Space, with the original expectation being that we may see another expansion follow.
That’s looking less likely though following the reception to both of those aforementioned releases, so it’s perhaps the case that Bethesda has instead moved on to ramping up development on The Elder Scrolls VI.
There’s no way to tell how far along that game is in its development.
It could be two years out from launch, or it could be five. We simply don’t know.
That also means that there’s no launch window available for Fallout 5, a game which isn’t expected to enter full development until after The Elder Scrolls VI’s release.
What I’m saying is simple: we’re going to be waiting one heck of a long time for Fallout 5.
I’m assuming then that many of us will end up replaying Fallout 4 for the umpteenth time, something YouTuber Digital Dreams is in the midst of doing.
The difference here being that Digital Dreams has applied over 300 mods, perhaps giving us an idea of what Fallout 5 graphically might look like.
Digital Dreams’ overhaul of Fallout 4 includes the use of the “BeyondallLimits (BAL) 2.0 preset in stunning 8K resolution”, with added ray-tracing – although it looks more like screen space reflections to me.
Instead of gushing and telling you how phenomenal the end result is, you may as well take a look for yourself.
Of course, if you’re going to attempt to emulate this, you’ll need a decent PC as 300 mods is a lot to contend with.
But you can venture the video’s description to find a link to Digital Dream’s ReShade presets if you do find yourself wanting to get involved.
Needless to say, fans were left dazzled by this project.
“Wasn’t expecting much going in but my god it actually looks like next gen Fallout. Insanely high res everything and then that nuke,” wrote one viewer.
“Bro fire as always,” added another.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
