Fallout fans are united over a next-gen remaster of New Vegas that needs to happen and we want it to.

The Fallout series is one of Bethesda’s most popular franchises with devoted fans never getting enough of its retro, post-apocalyptic shenanigans in its charming but deadly nuclear wastelands.

Whether it’s Fallout 3, Fallout 4 or even Fallout 76, you can’t go wrong with any game in the series. Heck, even the classic PC games before Bethesda acquired the license from the 90s are still a blast to play today.

One of the most popular games in the series is a title not developed by Bethesda but instead by Obsidian Entertainment that has become a big cult classic with fans, that game is 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas.

Released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Fallout: New Vegas is a spin-off title that was supposed to be an expansion to Fallout 3. Yet, as the game became more ambitious during development, it was decided that it would be a standalone title, which ended up being a very wise move.

However, given that Fallout: New Vegas is nearly 15 years old, as fun as it still is, the popular RPG is certainly showing its age and fans believe that it’s time for a makeover.

“Fallout: New Vegas needs a remaster,” exclaimed CommissarSteel56. “With all the new tech and advanced systems for both PC and consoles, would it not make sense to do a remaster, perhaps with new DLC?”

“If Obsidian does it? YES,” replied ZorroFonzarelli before iterating “If Bethesda does it? YES – after they get Obsidian on board.”

“It really does, but I am certain Bethesda would botch it. I don’t trust that company anymore,” said a concerned PromiseToHeron.

“Another Fallout on a modern engine made by Obsidian would be incredible but Todd Howard is afraid of being shown up, so we shouldn’t hold our breath,” said a dejected pancakebarber.

“This game needs a remake. The engine is buggy, animations are like rotten wood. A lot of content was cut, and combat sucks when compared to Fallout 4,” explains Tzetrah.

I must say, I agree with all the points made by Tzetrah. I think Fallout: New Vegas needs a remake and not a remaster but I wouldn’t complain if we had either.

The next game in the series to arrive is expected to be Fallout 5, which hasn’t even been officially announced yet nor does it have a release date.

Hopefully, with the launch of Fallout 5 likely being several years away, we might at the very least get a remaster of Fallout: New Vegas, which would surely put Bethesda in the good graces of fans.
