Far Cry 7 teaser hints at major changes for the series

Far Cry 7 teaser promises us huge changes to series

Ubisoft intends to shake things up in Far Cry 7.

Despite being a beloved series, Far Cry 6 was a letdown for many fans.

Even though it has some redeeming qualities, it’s been described as “terrible” and lacking fun gameplay.

Rather than continue the mistakes of the past, the latest teaser for the next Far Cry instalment suggests that Ubisoft are making changes.

Big changes.

As shared by ComicBook, a new report has been released that highlights key areas in which the publisher is making the necessary alterations.

However, it isn’t only Far Cry 7 that’s undergoing a transformation, for there’s reportedly two Far Cry titles being developed not just one.

Furthermore, these games were due to launch in 2025 but have since been delayed until 2026.

Included in this report is also mention of the narrative of Far Cry 7, which seemingly will take its creative cues from the successes of Far Cry 5.

As per ComicBook’s article, the new game will feature a protagonist trying to rescue their kidnapped family.

To make the stakes feel realistically high, there’ll be an in-game clock counting down how long you’ve got to save your character’s family.

Even though there’s similarities between the new game and previous outings, the fact that there’s such a strict time window to adhere to takes the series in a bold, new direction.

Normally, you can focus on working your way across the map, taking your time if you so wish.

You’re not afforded such luxuries here, purportedly.

Ubisoft hasn’t responded to the report, and thus we can’t confirm or deny whether these details are legitimate.

As a result, it’s advised you remain cautious when discussing this teaser, so as not to end up disappointed should it be incorrect.

You all know the drill by now, or, at least, you should.

If this report is to be trusted, Far Cry 7 will change the game quite literally for this outing.
