‘Four Seasons’ Star Tina Fey’s Shocking SNL Confession Proves Even Legends Are Haunted by Their Cringiest Mistakes

Tina Fey lies to her children when they dislike her old Saturday Night Live sketches because she regrets them too.

Tina Fey's Shocking SNL Confession

Tina Fey is one of the most recognized names in Hollywood. Even if you don’t recognize her name, you have seen something she has written. From being a part of Saturday Night Live for years to creating classics like 30 Rock and Mean Girls, she has been ingrained in pop culture for decades now.

Most recently, she created and starred in The Four Seasons, finding yet another way to immortalize herself in the industry. With the amount of success that she has seen because of her comedy, one would assume that she does not take things too seriously and focuses on the present.

However, it would seem that regardless of how successful one becomes, one cannot outrun regret.

Tina Fey isn’t proud of everything she has made

When someone has made so many iconic films and sketches, one would assume that they would always be proud of the things they wrote. However, much like the normal person, Tina Fey isn’t exempt from having different phases in her life. Recently, the comedian made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she revealed that she has a fascinating perspective on her past works.

It is quite common for people to feel confident about something in the moment and regret it in the years to come, regardless of what aspect of their life it is in. In a surprisingly human moment, Fey revealed that she suffers from a similar feeling when it comes to the things that she made in the past.

Fey was a part of Saturday Night Live for more than two decades, during which she wrote all kinds of sketches and jokes. While many have gone on to become some of the most iconic moments in comedy, more than a few have found it difficult to be funny.

I have so many ones that aired that I wish had not.

Looking back at the latter category, she revealed that there are plenty of sketches that aired on the program that she now wishes hadn’t.

While Tina Fey can digest the knowledge of occasionally writing mediocre jokes herself, she cannot seem to cope with her children knowing the same. In the interview, the comedian talked about how she and her children watch random Saturday Night Live sketches on Peacock.

While this can be a great way for her to show off in front of her kids, things can get awkward when one of her bad sketches shows up. However, Fey seems to have to perfect strategy to make sure they never find out about her failures; she lies to them.

On Peacock, they show old, random-ordered sketches from SNL… Sometimes ones have come up that my kids are like, ‘What is this?’ And I fully wrote it, and I’m like, ‘I don’t know. That’s so stupid, right?’

The comedian revealed that there are moments when her children turn to her and call one of those sketches bad. Rather than informing them that it was something written by her many moons ago, she simply agrees with them and never tells them about a time when she was unfortunately unfunny.

Although this could be called bad parenting in some self-help book, this moment of vulnerability coming from someone as legendary as Tina Fey is almost comforting.

Four Seasons is available for streaming on Netflix.
