The achievement requires that you save as many tieflings as possible during the game’s first and second acts, helping them safely reach Baldur’s Gate. But it’s not as simple as defending them when danger is near: many choices can directly or indirectly sentence these refugees to death. Unlocking the achievement and helping the tieflings in BG3 requires careful planning and determination, and you should follow these steps.
How To Get The Achievement “Leave No One Behind” In BG3
The Parameters For This Difficult Achievement

Sadly, not every refugee in the group can be saved since some are doomed to die no matter what. But what’s interesting is that unlocking this achievement sometimes requires that you save certain characters, even if they are destined to die later. It’s less about the number of people that complete their journey to Baldur’s Gate and more about keeping everyone alive for as long as possible.
In addition, playing as a specific origin character will make getting this achievement much harder: BG3‘s Dark Urge. The Urge has a scripted encounter where they murder Alfira, a tiefling bard who would otherwise survive Act One with no problem. If you’re going through the game as this killer must knock out Alfira before each long rest they take after meeting her in Druid’s Grove; otherwise, her death may break the achievement.
How To Keep The Tieflings Alive In Act One
Keeping The Peace In The Emerald Grove

The first required step in saving the tieflings comes early in BG3‘s Act One when a group of goblins can be found attacking them at the Emerald Grove. Their leader, Zevlor, could die in this fight, so you must make sure to defeat the goblins before that happens. Next, once you enter the Grove, you must make sure to interact with several important characters.
You may be a threat to the Tieflings if you start fights or steal inside the Emerald Grove, so avoid those actions to stay safe.
Then there are the children, Mirkon and Arabella. Mirkon is being lured down by the shore by harpies and must be saved. He will tell you how to enter the secret cave in the grove, where you can find and talk to Mol. This is not necessarily required, but having a bond with the tiefling thief will help later on. Arabella, meanwhile, is being questioned by Kagha inside the Grove’s sanctum and will be killed by Kagha’s snake unless you persuade the druid to let her go.
The Dark Urge will have many opportunities to commit atrocities against other tieflings in the grove, such as Pandirna. While helping these NPCs isn’t required to unlock the achievement, killing them will break it, so avoid those options.
Rescuing The Refugees In Act Two
Navigating The Shadow-Cursed Lands

If the above steps are fulfilled, several tieflings will still be found dead in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Arka is among them, and many more tieflings, including Nadira, will also go missing at this point. It is unknown if their death is implied or if they simply got separated; either way, their fates do not affect the achievement past this point. What is important is saving the remaining tieflings who are seeking refuge at Last Light Inn or captured at Moonrise Towers.
No matter what, Last Light Inn must not fall into darkness, as this kills most of the remaining Tieflings. They must also be protected when Absolute forces attack the Inn, as the Winged Horrors can kill several of them if you are not careful. After the attack, you must free the tieflings trapped in Moonrise, usually by helping Wulbren Bongle stage a prison break. This gets Cal, Lia, Lakrissa, and Danis safely back to Last Light.
Any time when you enter combat and a tiefling is present, casting spells like
Sanctuary or Shield of Faith can help to ensure they survive.
Do all of this, and the maximum number of tiefling refugees will make it to Baldur’s Gate, but you won’t get the “Leave No One Behind” achievement just yet. The survivors could still die if attacked or caught in the crossfire during events in act three, and Mol must be spoken to in the Guildall to be considered “safe.” Do all of this, and don’t let any of them die, and you’ll receive the “Leave No One Behind” achievement upon completing the game.
