Space Marine 2 even received Update 5 recently, which added new enemies, a season pass, and an Operation for gamers to check out. Despite these constant additions of content and bringing fans everything they could’ve dreamt of, the Space Marine sequel is facing criticism over the dumbest thing one can ever imagine.

Since its initial release in September 2024, more than 5 million gamers have dived into Space Marine 2, which makes it one of the most popular games in Saber Interactive’s catalog to date.
However, Saber isn’t done with the game yet. The developer has outlined plans for the future of the title in 2025, which brings many massive changes and additions.
The gaming community is excited about the future of the game and can’t wait to see what Saber has in store for one of the best games that came out in 2024. However, some in the community are skeptical. One player states that they stopped playing the title because of the shallow and arcade-type combat, which doesn’t simply hold up.
Well, the Redditor’s criticism doesn’t really make sense, as Space Marine 2‘s combat isn’t “arcadey” or shallow in any way or shape. Saber has worked hard to bring us a combat experience that feels special, as it’s more than your average standard shooting and slash mechanics.
Gamers need to understand tons of mechanics related to melee and weapon systems before the whole flow of combat starts to make more sense. It’s not an arcade game where you can just pick it up and start throwing hands. If you don’t learn the art of combat in Space Marine 2, you’re destined to have a hard time.
What’s coming for Space Marine 2 in 2025?

According to Saber, Space Marine 2 will receive tons of PVP mode changes next year, and while the studio won’t give too much at this point, it has been confirmed that we’ll soon have a new map that will push more close-quarters fighting.
The game will also get more PvE adjustments as a new horde mode will be dropped. We can expect to see new enemies, operations, and an expansion to Battle Barge in 2025.
It’s not just the new modes to look forward to; Saber has also confirmed that brand-new customizations will be dropping alongside a new Champion.
There’s a sniper-class soldier coming to the game soon in the form of a Salamander Champion. Saber confirmed that the Raven Guard would’ve been the obvious choice for a sniper but hinted there would be a different direction for the class.
While it’s great to see that Saber is giving us a peek into its 2025 plans for Space Marine 2, it’s frustrating that the developer hasn’t given us any firm dates for all the additions.
With that said, would you like to see any other features or additions to Space Marine 2 in 2025? Let us know in the comments below.
