The miniseries delves into the emotional turmoil of survivors who have been through one too many trials and tribulations, only to depict their stunning rise from the ashes despite all the odds. The Ones Who Live delivers on every promise, giving Rick and Michonne a worthy sendoff, though fans still hope to see more of their characters in the future.

iZombie Combines the Zombie and Procedural Genres

iZombie is a unique entry to the zombie genre, as it adopts the format of a typical police procedural series. While most post-apocalyptic series fall into the same tired tropes, iZombie has fun with its premise by innovating new ways to tell zombie stories. However, this relationship proves to be just as dangerous as it is helpful, as Joel finds himself willing to do anything to protect Ellie–even if it makes him a monster. As a more concise story with a definitive end point, The Last of Us does a lot of things better than The Walking Dead, making it a terrific show to fill the gap between new seasons of Dead City.
