đ± Imagine Horizon Zero Dawn’s robotic beasts clashing with Red Dead’s wild frontiers and Zelda’s epic adventuresâall in one breathtaking open-world RPG!
What secrets hide in this horse-riding, tribe-filled masterpiece? Uncover the hype here
This upcoming open-world RPG looks like a proper mish-mash of a bunch of different games, and a massive step up for the developers (given their previous work).
Do you like the big, open plains of Red Dead Redemption? Did you enjoy the vibes of the Nora tribe in Horizon Zero Dawn? Are you a fan of the fact that you can ride a horse in The Legend of Zelda?
Alright, even I know Iâm pushing it with that last one.
Still, if you answered âYes! I love horses!â, then you may want to keep an eye on Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori, set to release in Q3 of this year.
Now, if youâve already heard of Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori, then I have a feeling youâre probably already familiar with the developerâs other, horse-centric entries in the series.
Thatâs because developer Aesir Interactive also worked on both Windstorm: Start of a Great Friendship and Windstorm: An Unexpected Arrival, all of which seem to be spin-offs of the Windstorm films. Jesus Christ, how much deeper does this horse lore go?
Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori looks like a pretty huge improvement over Aesir Interactiveâs other work, though. Iâm not trying to throw shade here, but the other games in the series look like student projects compared to this one.
The extremely successful Kickstarter campaign behind the game probably had a little something to do with that. The horse expert they roped (oh wait, âlassoâdâ would probably be way funnier) into helping with the development likely got all the horse fans excited to give hand over their hard-earned cash.
If youâre keen to try it for yourself, youâll be able to grab Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori on PC and consoles pretty soon (considering weâre quite close to that Q3 2025 window already).
In the meantime, you could always give Umamusume: Pretty Derby a go. I mean, itâs got horses in it. Sort of.
