Hulk is one of Marvel’s most popular characters and a key figure in the MCU. He was last seen in She-Hulk in 2022, where he introduced his son. While he’s been mentioned in several projects, fans are still waiting to see him on the big screen.
There were rumors about Hulk appearing in Captain America: Brave New World, which Mark Ruffalo initially confirmed but later corrected, saying he doesn’t have a role in the movie.
Now, industry insider Alex Perez shared his thoughts on Hulk’s future in the MCU during a Discord AMA. Despite the buzz around the rumored World War Hulk storyline, it looks like Hulk won’t be appearing anytime soon.
Alex Perez confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will not appear in Brave New World, Fantastic Four: First Steps, or Thunderbolts* before Doomsday. This makes sense since Hulk isn’t essential for the storylines of those films.
Perez also talked about the rumors of a “Maestro Hulk” variant appearing in future multiverse movies. He said that while Maestro could be part of the Multiverse Saga, it would only happen if Marvel decides to include him.
Maestro, at this point in time, could only work as part of the Multiverse Saga IF they decide to bring him in.
Not all hope is lost for Hulk’s solo movie. Almost a year ago, Mark Ruffalo confirmed that he was told from the start he would never get a solo movie and that his story would unfold in other films.
This is mainly because of the complicated rights to the character, which belong to Universal. Although there have been reports that this issue has been resolved, we haven’t seen much proof of it yet.
Perez hinted that a new Hulk movie could be coming soon, mentioning a mysterious Marvel project called Shadowstone Productions, which is connected to Hulk.
BraveFire: Hi Alex! I know all the Hulk questions are very complicated to answer, but I hope that won’t be the case. There are a lot of rumors going around right now about the start of a Wolverine vs Hulk movie development (Cryptic, MTTSH and other scoopers have been feeding the rumor). My question is: do you think Wolverine vs Hulk and World War Hulks are one and the same movie or 2 separate/different projects?
Alex Perez: It wouldn’t be a smart idea to compound both of those story arc ideas into one movie, so I think they’re separate movies. But I’m fairly certain we’re getting a Hulk movie soon. There’s still the matter of the unknown Marvel Production titled “Shadowstone Productions” which we reported on 2 years ago. And Shadowstone is a Marvel mineral tied to Hulk, so…we’ll see what happens.
