On YouTube, the channel Multiverse of Movies shared a concept trailer for a live-action adaptation of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. To be clear, there are no planned live-action Spider-Verse movies known to be officially in the works at this time, but AI-generated imagery and voices were used to create the faux trailer with Jaden Smith leading the cast as Miles Morales. Emma Stone co-stars as the Spider-Verse’s Gwen Stacy, serving as a nod to her role as the character in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man. The concept trailer can be watched below.
Another casting choice imagined are based on the real-life actors who voice certain characters in the Spider-Verse franchise. This includes Jake Johnson as the Peter B. Parker version of Spider-Man and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man 2099. Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir is also included, but in this case, fans will actually get to see this casting happen in real life, as Cage is playing the role in the live-action Spider-Noir series in development at Amazon MGM Studios.
Some Casting Choices Will Be Familiar
A more “realistic” Spider-Ham is also introduced, and it’s suggested that he’d be voiced by John Mulaney, as he was in the animated franchise. Donald Glover has also put into the role of Aaron Davis’ Prowler (again) after his live-action cameo in Across the Spider-Verse. Other fantasy casting choices in the faux trailer include John Boyega as Hobie Brown’s Spider-Punk, Lana Condor as Peni Parker, Dev Patel as Pavitr Prabhaka’s Spider-Man India, Tessa Thompson as Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman, Woody Harrelson as George Stacy, Idris Elba as Jefferson Davies, Rosario Dawson as Rio Morales, and J.K. Simmons once again in the role of J. Jonah Jameson.
The animated movie series kicked off in 2018 with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Fully embracing the multiverse, the film saw Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) teaming up with various incarnations of Spider-Man from alternate universes. Along with boasting widespread praise, the film won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. It is considered to be one of the best animated films ever made, holding respective critics and audience scores of 97% and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Last year, the sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was released when it was similarly met with incredible success. The film was also nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, and it has scores of 95% and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. There are hopes that the third and final installment of the trilogy will be just as embraced when it eventually makes its way to theaters.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse doesn’t currently have a set release date.
