It’s not uncommon for the player to walk through Kuttenberg and get prompted to press the investigate button when passing the fountain. Every. Single. Time. And it’s now got to the point where many of them are just plain fed up with it.
Henry Of Skalitz Loves Fountains, Pass It On
If you’re like me, when you’re prompted to check something out in a game, you do it. Who knows what kind of mysteries lie there or what kind of adventure you’ll be sent on? Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is no different in that regard, but every time you investigate the fountain, you’re greeted with some very familiar lines of dialogue.
A fountain? In the middle of a city? Where does the water come from?
It’s a line of dialogue that players are getting sick of, and they’ve taken to Reddit to share their annoyance.
The Fountain and Henry’s reaction have been the subject of multiple threads in the Kingdom Come subreddit, garnering over 10,000 total upvotes and hundreds of comments.
“I was sure there had to be some kind of secret or quest thing,” said CorsoReno, speaking for a large contingent of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s player base. Goober_Goat shared a similar opinion, saying, “I feel the same way about ‘You don’t need to hold forward when galloping!’ It’s the only way to control the damn horse without smacking into everything; yes, you damn well do!”
Although many players vented their frustrations about the fountain’s lack of major secrets, others were endeared by Henry’s obsession. “Henry’s fascination with that fountain is kinda adorable tbh. It also shows how much he appreciates fine craftsmanship as a skilled smith,” said one player, with another adding that they’ve created a name for the act. “I call it pondering the fountain and I have to do it every time I pass at this point,” they said.
