Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an RPG that concerns itself more with the historical side of the genre. If that wasn’t blatantly obvious to begin with, main characters such as Hans Capon are based on real-life historical figures like Jan Ptáček of Pirkštejn, but while the game does its best to focus on historical accuracy, there are certain dates and timelines that need to be fudged to make things make more sense.
It’s this fudging that has led a lot of people to make some pretty silly claims, such as Hans and Henry being 15 years old during the events of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You and I both know that simply looking at the two guys shows us they’re clearly in their early twenties, but since the real-life Jan Ptáček of Pirkštejn was 15 in 1403, a lot of people automatically assume that Hans must be the same.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Voice Actor Weighs In On Hans Age Debate
That little myth has been floating around the Kingdom Come: Deliverance community for quite a while, despite how nonsensical it is, and it’s now managed to make its way to Hans actor Luke Dale. In a recent live stream, shared by Reddit user DreadWo0lf, Dale was told that due to Jan Ptáček of Pirkštejn’s age in 1403, Henry and Hans must be 15 in the game, and his reaction was very unsurprising if you know anything about the actor.
“They’re not 15,” says Dale. “Basically, what happened was, there’s something known as artistic license. For the story to work, you kind of have to play fast and lose with history a little bit, so there are certain elements of the game that aren’t entirely in conjunction with exactly how things happened in history.
Dale goes on to state that Hans was made older as it’s an adult game and it “wouldn’t be right” to have a 15-year-old do some of the things he does. He then goes on to say that anyone that still thinks Henry and Hans are 15 should “f*** off and shut the f*** up.” Exactly the kind of response you’d expect from a man who says he would “obviously” try to bone himself in the game, and I salute you for it Mr. Dale.
