While players have plenty of new content to enjoy with a new map and two new characters, fans are already speculating about and looking forward to what could be added next in Season 2. Luckily, there may be some hints as to what could be coming next for Marvel Rivals, and fans of mutants might have a lot to be excited about.
Season 1’s Ending Shows Dracula’s Defeat
Dr. Doom Had Other Plans For Dracula

Part of the early story of Marvel Rivals featured an unlikely alliance between Dracula and Dr. Doom, with the latter giving Dracula the means to curse New York City with the Eternal Night and an army of vampires. It was originally unclear why Doom would enter a partnership with Dracula, but the end of the season will show what Doom’s true intentions were the whole time.
#MarvelRivals Season 1 concludes with Doom stealing the Pure Blood Chronovium from a deceived Dracula, toppling the Empire of Eternal Night and securing his advantage in the Doom War. But Doom’s 2099 counterpart has even bigger plans—and they’re taking him to a certain gala. pic.twitter.com/mFuxitm3CS — Miller Ross (@mmmmmmmmiller) February 19, 2025
According to @mmmmmmmmiller on X, in true Dr. Doom fashion, Dracula was only a means to an end, with Doom betraying Dracula and using him to obtain something called the Pure Blood Chronovium. This has given him an advantage against the Doom of 2099, but surely the other Doom has plans himself. This leads into hints about Season 2, with Doom 2099 potentially taking players to a familiar mutant haven.
Season 2 Could Be Mutant Themed
A Fan-Favorite Comic Tradition Would Be the Inspiration For the Season

Fans are speculating that the gala referenced in the Season 1 ending could be the Hellfire Gala, an annual event on the mutant island of Krakoa. The Hellfire Gala traditionally serves as a celebration of mutants, the election of a new X-Men team, and a state dinner for the country of Krakoa. When considering everything that accompanies the Hellfire Gala, it makes perfect sense to have an entire season dedicated to it.
Marvel Rivals has yet to include a Krakoa map in the game, and a Hellfire Gala season would surely allow players to visit the infamous island of mutants. It would also be the perfect way for new fan-favorite X-Men characters to be introduced to the game, with a huge selection of X-Men to choose from. And, of course, the Hellfire Gala would surely feature plenty of skins for existing characters, that could feature them dressed in their fanciest outfits. For now, players still have plenty of new content to enjoy while they wait and speculate about Season 2.
