Marvel fans rejoice because it looks like popular MCU characters such as Scarlet Witch and more are officially returning.
One of the most highly anticipated MCU series arrives later this year on Disney Plus with Marvel Zombies, something that was teased in season one of the animated series What If…?
Now that What If…? has come to an end after three glorious seasons, fans are eager for new animated goodness to sink their teeth into and by the looks of things, Marvel Zombies might just quench that thirst.
As the name of What If…? suggests, it gives alternate scenarios in the multiverses of the MCU and Marvel Zombies is a spin-off of that popular series.
Without giving too much away, not only have we seen our favourite heroes and villains as zombies in What…? but it also explored Thor as an only child and what if Ultron had won in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
As for Marvel Zombies, we know little about the upcoming series at the time of writing but as reported by The Direct, nine fan-favourite MCU characters have been confirmed with the respective actors reprising their roles.
Marvel Zombies “re-imagines the Marvel universe as a new generation of heroes battling against an ever-spreading zombie scourge,” reads a brief synopsis via IMDB.
The nine actors confirmed to return in Marvel Zombies are:
Awkwafina (Katy from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings)
David Harbour (Red Guardian)
Dominique Thorne (Ironheart)
Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch)
Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop)
Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel)
Randall Park (Jimmy Woo, the agent from the Ant-Man movies)
Simu Lie (Shang-Chi)
No doubt, more confirmed actors will reprise roles in Marvel Zombies and we’ll learn more as we get closer to its 3 October 2025 release date on Disney Plus.
