Marvel Rivals brings tons of powerful heroes, but one of them is so weak that even buffs might not be able to save it.
It’s just been a month since Marvel Rivals, so gamers are still debating which characters are good or absolute rock bottom. However, as we’ve entered Season 1, a clear picture has emerged since NetEase has given us some player data.

When one checks out Marvel Rivals‘ top hero list, we can see characters with the best pick rate and win rate. While most of the characters seem to be quite balanced, there’s one anomaly: Black Widow. As of now, she is one of the least-picked characters, and that’s all due to her useless skillset.

In any team-based shooter that pits you against others, it’s always the right choice to go for a ranged character. However, with so many choices in Marvel Rivals, one might argue that it’s best to go for one that can do both melee and ranged: Black Widow.
Since the game’s release, many have projected Black Widow as a true force of destruction in the hands of those who can master her abilities. However, as we enter Season 1, it’s quite clear that she doesn’t have a place in the current meta, even on the casual side of things.
As Black Widow looked to be Rivals’ equivalent to Widowmaker, there were a lot of expectations behind the character. However, the long-distance sniper role is clearly better suited for Hawkeye. The problem is that you don’t need perfect accuracy in a hero-shooter that’s as fast as Rivals.
What’s even more terrible is the fact that anyone will despise aiming with Black Widow. There’s no proper reward, and she’s outclassed by everyone else on Marvel Rivals‘ loaded roster. She just doesn’t work as a sniper, and her melee abilities seem quite confusing.
As many have pointed out on the Marvel Rivals’ official subreddit, the only thing going for Black Widow is her team-up ability, and even that’s heavily dependent on Hawkeye.
Let’s hope with the upcoming patches, NetEase Games can address the core issues of Black Widows’ kit and buff her because she’s a character that has all the potential to be at the top of the pick and win charts, just like Moon Knight.
Marvel Rivals must take a look at Jeff as well

It’s not just Black Widow at the bottom of charts in Marvel Rivals; even the fan-favorite Jeff the Land Shark has been struggling to find his place in the current meta.
Jeff is a popular character thanks to his ultimate ability, which allows the player’s team to control any zone within the game. Seriously, contested points can be a breeze to take over with the help of Jess. However, outside of his ultimate, he doesn’t offer much.
The character can heal his enemies, but it is surpassed by various other Strategists such as Rocket Raccoon and Mantis. Sure, Jeff’s bubbles can also provide a boost in healing and movement, but his teammates find it hard to be aware of them when fighting against enemies.
Oftentimes, the bubbles can be pushed up by Jeff, but other support characters in the game don’t need that much effort to provide healing.
