NetEase Games attempt to give players The Things’ comic accurate skin may have backfired as players call it the worst skin because of its price.

As a part of the Season 1.5 update for Marvel Rivals, NetEase Games added two new heroes to the game: The Thing and Human Torch. It’s safe to say that players are having a blast playing as these new characters, especially The Thing. Like many other heroes, The Thing also has some unique costumes, but there is one that some players have labeled as the worst skin in the game.

The Thing has one skin called First Family, which at first glance, seems very similar to his default skin. Players have claimed that it is unreasonable for this skin to cost 600 Units. As useless as it may seem, it was important to have this skin in the game because this look is more comic book accurate.
Players called this The Thing outfit the worst skin in Marvel Rivals

The Marvel Rivals community on the r/marvelrivals subreddit has concluded that The Thing’s First Family outfit is the worst “600 currency” skin in the game. This is because this skin seems like a lazy recolor because NetEase Games only changed the shorts’ color to make the skin comic book accurate. Players added that they should’ve retouched the hero’s skin because it’s unreasonable to charge players 600 units for a skin like this.
Players suggested that the cost of the skin should be reduced because the rest of the skin is exactly the same. In fact, even the font of the number 4 is the same so it’s clear that NetEase Games barely touched anything else. The same goes for other Fantastic Four characters as all of the First Family skins are just recolored.
The criticism is valid but players should praise NetEase for the Trench Coat skin because it is one of the most iconic The Things’ outfits. This skin is a part of The Thing – Trench Coat Bundle, which also includes a unique MVP animation, emote, nameplate, and spray. The entire bundle can be acquired for 1600 Units.
The Season 1.5 update may have confirmed that Blade will be added to Marvel Rivals soon

Apart from The Thing and Human Torch, the season 1.5 update included many new cosmetics, one new map, and much-needed balance adjustments to existing heroes in the game. The complete list of changes can be found on the official website of Marvel Rivals.
As a part of the update, NetEase also gave players a brand new map: Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park, which may have confirmed that Blade will join the game’s roster soon. On the map, players can find Blade but unfortunately, he is captured by Dracula. There are speculations that players will defeat Dracula, which will unlock Blade as a playable character later. At this pace, players should expect to see Blade getting added to the game in the next season.
