We’re at an interesting point in time, Mass Effect fans.

While BioWare has been teasing the franchise’s next instalment for several years now, it hasn’t been the focus of the studio’s efforts.

That was Dragon Age: The Veilguard, a project which has now launched.

Naturally, yes, Veilguard will continue to receive post-launch support but I’m imagining that BioWare has already shifted manpower over to Mass Effect 5.

Even with that likely being the case, it’s presumably going to be several years before the game is launch-ready.

In the meantime, you may want to revisit the series’ original release as fans have located Garrus content they didn’t previously know about.

Garrus is a fan-favourite, both because people think he’s cool and because people fancy him but I’m not going to linger too long on that latter point.

As reported by Comic Book, players of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition have been overlooking a very nice bit of armour you can acquire for Garrus in the trilogy’s first game.

This was pointed out by Reddit user Simon-66 who wrote, “Currently doing my third playthrough of the series and I didn’t expect to find this beauty. It is the same as Nihlus’, right? And MAN, doesn’t it look good on my babygirl?”

I’m going to overlook the babygirl and skip straight to yes, it does bear a striking resemblance to Nihlus’ armour.

“Wait, you can actually get it in the game?” replied Plane-River7917.

The problem is that loot is randomised in Mass Effect so it’s not exactly easy to explain to other players how they can acquire this armour.

ZukoTheHonorable did offer up a useful bit of information though: “Loot is random. If you want to ‘farm’ it, make sure you have a ‘Serrice Council License’ for your requisition officer. Then you can Save/Load in your garage until it pops up in his inventory.”

It’s not a game-changing discovery but it’s something to look out for next time you embark on a fresh playthrough.
