In what is already being called the biggest gaming leak of 2025, over 22 minutes of alleged off-screen gameplay from the unannounced Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake surfaced online late Tuesday night – and the internet has officially lost its collective mind.

The footage, first posted by an anonymous account on a private Discord before being mirrored across Twitter, Reddit, and 4chan, shows Edward Kenway’s legendary pirate adventure rebuilt from the ground up in the same AnvilNext engine that powered Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the upcoming Hexe.

One clip shows Edward swinging from his crow’s nest directly onto an enemy Man O’ War while his crew fires broadsides in slow-motion chaos.

Underwater exploration is getting the Black Flag treatment it always deserved. The leak shows fully drivable one-man submersibles, great white shark fights, and sunken cities you can explore for hours. One sequence has Edward diving into a glowing blue cave filled with Isu artifacts – and yes, the animus glitch effects are gorgeous.
