One of the best multiplayer first-person shooters can be bought for pocket change on Steam right now, and I’m begging you to play it if you haven’t already.

As someone who rarely gets into multiplayer games, I sunk so many hours into Battlefield 1 when it first came out, and fought to unlock all the weapons and customisation items in the game, especially the secret ones.

If you didn’t play it when it came out, I’m afraid you missed out, but you can remedy that situation by buying the game on Steam right now for a measly £1.74, or whatever that equates to in your region.

That’s basically pocket change for one of the best Battlefield games Electronic Arts ever put out, and it’s worth every penny.

Even better is the servers are still online for the time being, and surprisingly active considering it’s been several years since the game first launched.

Of course, I’d recommend jumping straight into the multiplayer modes and there’s even some DLC you can get to even the odds a bit with players who’ve been on the game longer.

Battlefield 1 does also sport a single-player campaign that covers several events and sides of the First World War though, so if you’re interested in learning a bit of history, there’s that for you to enjoy too.

Basically, buy and play the game. I don’t think you’ll regret it and even if you do, it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to pick it up.

Hopefully, future Battlefield games take a few cues from Battlefield 1, either from the setting and period the game is set in or the gameplay.

Don’t get me wrong, the modern Battlefield games are solid, but I’m yet to play one that has the same appeal as this one.
