Fans of Red Dead Online have banded together in an attempt to save the dying title, creating a petition that has reached over 350 signatures in a matter of hours. Red Dead Online was deemed “dead” after Rockstar Games announced they would no longer be updating the title back in 2022. While there are still plenty of hardcore fans who play the game to this day, those who enjoy what the title has to offer feel “abandoned” and wish Rockstar would come back to RDO and give them the support they long for.

The “#savereddeadonline” petition was created yesterday by Change.org user Missrissax Tiktok, and it seems to have already weighed on the hearts of RDO fans as there are 364 signatures at the time of writing.

Fans Still Can’t Get Enough Of RDO

Though the Red Dead Online petition is quite new, the response to it thus far has been overwhelming. Taking a look at the comments on the petition, it’s very clear that fans have a deep love for the title and want nothing more than a little support from Rockstar. Commenter Elizabeth states, “RDO has been a huge part of my life since it’s release. Played everyday, made content and enjoyed the beauty of this game. It deserves more TLC from the creators.”

Most of the comments agree with this sentiment, including a few that mention how RDO is more than just a game to them, it is an escape from reality that some people desperately need. This is the case with many video games, as players can become anyone they wish to be, run around a fake world that holds great value to them, and escape the “rat race” they consider life to be.

With No New Content In Years, Fans Of Red Dead Redemption Feel Forgotten

Maybe Rockstar Will Hear Fans’ Pleas

Rockstar Games slammed the hatchet down on Red Dead Online back in 2022 in order to focus on GTA, which is a thriving franchise in its own right. While they initially stated they would be focusing on implementing small missions and expansions of existing modes, there has not been much in terms of content released for RDO since then. Fans felt betrayed and upset, as they had put many hours and even years into the title for it to slowly be left behind by its creators.

While the future of RDO is unknown, there are a few games that have been released since then that are slightly similar and could provide fans with a similar experience. For those who never seem to have found a game quite like Read Dead Online, only time will tell whether Rockstar will circle back and release something new.
