Robert Pattinson’s most hated film franchise, ‘The Twilight Saga’, is on top of Netflix charts. Here’s why the vampire saga refuses to die.
A franchise famously dubbed “weird” and “cringeworthy”, The Twilight Saga has somehow clawed its way back into the mainstream space- and it’s here to stay. In a major pop culture revival, Robert Pattinson’s most famous, and possibly most hated, film franchise has become the fresh talk of the town. Since the addition of Breaking Dawn- Part 2 to Netflix on May 1st, 2025, all five Twilight films have been available for streaming, and both old & new viewers can’t stop binge-watching.
This resurgence has helped the saga lead Netflix’s Top 10 charts for nearly one whole month. With billion-dollar returns and a diehard fandom that refuses to fade, Twilight is proving that even a franchise that’s been trolled and mocked for years can outlast criticism and flourish in the digital era.
Robert Pattinson-starrer Twilight franchise has officially made its digital comeback
Robert Pattinson’s most talked-about film series, Twilight, has recently been on a revival journey of its own. The saga has been on Netflix’s Top 10 charts for almost a month now (via FlixPatrol). All five films- Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn- Part 1, and Breaking Dawn- Part 2 have regained popularity among viewers.

Regardless of whether millennial and Gen Z audiences are rewatching the films for the nostalgia or simply to gather more meme material, it’s doing wonders for the franchise that earned a whopping $3.3 billion in global box office returns (via The Numbers).
I can’t say I haven’t indulged in a movie marathon myself just to relive my teen years and witness Edward and Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) young love. Netflix’s algorithmic push and easy accessibility have placed the films high enough to regain their cultural staple status.
Social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok have played a significant role in the films’ resurgence. We’ve all seen the memes, parodies, and fan edits on our FYPs, right?
Could Midnight Sun be the reason for Twilight’s revival?
The films and their appeal might not be the only reasons for the franchise’s digital comeback. Netflix has recently greenlit an animated series that’s going to be based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 novel, Midnight Sun, which is a narration of the original Twilight from Edward Cullen’s POV.

With Meyer onboard as an executive producer herself, fans can look forward to a righteous, potentially darker retelling of events that dives into Edward’s psyche. This new take on the saga is reeling in excitement from viewers who had moved on years ago, subsequently resulting in a nostalgia-based rewatch surge.
The promise of new content centred around familiar lore has got fans hooked already. Also, the animation format is expected to draw in an even wider demographic, resulting in a much-needed reboot for the Twilight brand.
Taylor Lautner’s upcoming series is an extension of the Twilight universe
Taylor Lautner, who famously played the role of Jacob Black, the heartthrob werewolf who had a chokehold on fan girls, is making his supernatural comeback with Amazon’s upcoming Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter.

The meta-comedy will have Lautner playing a fictionalized version of himself as a monster-hunting vigilante. The series is a clever nod to Lautner’s werewolf legacy in Twilight.
This extension into adjacent media is helping the saga’s mythos stay alive and relevant in pop culture. While it might not be a spin-off, it is closely related to the franchise, and fans are here for it.
Add merchandise revivals, TikTok tributes, conventions, and fan recreation videos, and it’s clear the Twilight renaissance is in full swing. Whether you’re on the team that stands for every bit of mind-boggling nonsense the franchise fed us or the team that’s only riding along for the memes and giggles, these films are on an all-time digital high, proving immortal in more ways than one.
