🚨 SHOCKING: The Lamborghini Involved in Diogo Jota’s Crash Has Been Recalled Multiple Times Due to a “Critical” Design Flaw 😱
Newly revealed information shows that the exact model of Lamborghini Diogo Jota was driving had been recalled several times before the crash — all due to a “severe” design defect.
💥 Was this flaw the hidden cause behind the crash? The truth is more disturbing than you think.
The Lamborghini model reportedly involved in the fatal crash that carried Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his younger brother had previously been recalled over multiple safety concerns.
Jota, 28, and his brother André Silva, 26, were killed in a car crash near the northern Spanish town of Cerdanilla shortly after midnight Thursday, The Sun reported.
Sources at Lamborghini told the newspaper the vehicle involved was believed to be a Huracán, a luxury supercar favored by footballers and celebrities. Wreckage at the scene suggested the pair were driving an acid green Huracán Evo Spyder, the Daily Mail reported.
The Huracán, a £250,000 (US$340,000) Italian supercar, was produced between 2014 and 2024 and became one of Lamborghini’s best-selling models, with over 25,000 units sold globally. It has a top speed exceeding 325 km/h and accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.
Over the years, the model has been subject to several safety-related recalls. In September 2024, Lamborghini recalled 39 Huracán Evo Spyder vehicles in the U.S. due to a crash protection bracket that may have been installed incorrectly at its Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.

In November 2023, 7,805 Huracán vehicles built between July 2014 and October 2023 were recalled over an infotainment system function that allowed drivers to adjust headlights horizontally into “tourist mode” for left-hand driving, violating U.S. federal safety standards, Carscoops reported.
Other recalls addressed improperly secured door unlatching cables in certain 2021 and 2023 Huracán Coupé and Spyder models, raising concerns that doors might fail to open during emergencies. Vehicles produced in 2021 and early 2022 were also recalled for seat belt warning systems that might not activate when the car slowed below 20 km/h, failing to meet minimum safety requirements.
A Lamborghini spokesperson told The Sun: “We are saddened to learn of the accident that occurred in Spain involving a Lamborghini, in which Diogo and André Jota tragically lost their lives.
“In this moment of deep sorrow, we extend our heartfelt condolences to their family.
“Automobili Lamborghini awaits further information regarding the circumstances of the incident, in full respect for the people involved.”
News of Jota’s death has sent shockwaves through the football world. The Liverpool and Portugal forward had married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, just 10 days earlier. He leaves behind three children.
