A quest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is hailed as the “best” that this beloved fantasy RPG has to offer.
To say that any one quest in Skyrim is the best is one heck of a statement. After all, this entry in Bethesda’s ever-popular The Elder Scrolls series has tons of fulfilling quests outside of the main campaign story missions.
Sure, it’s subjective to say that something is the best, but for a game as critically acclaimed and for one that has sold so many copies since it was first released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, shouldn’t come as a surprise to those familiar with Skyrim’s vibrant Tamriel world.
The mission in question was shared on Reddit by user Important-Site-8589, sparking conversation with fellow adventurers who may or may not have taken an arrow to the knee at some point in their lives.
“First time discovering Frostflow Lighthouse,” they said with a crying emoji.
“I thought there would be a normal amount of Falmer there. I’m only level 21 and they whooped me so hard. I let my character sleep for 16 hours, thought she deserved it..,” they continued. “If you want to see it for yourself, it’s a lighthouse in between Winterhold and Dawnstar.”
“I love that mini-quest, it’s one of the best in the game,” replied piede90 with Important-Site-8589 responding “It does have an incredibly unique story.”
“Man, this might be the single saddest, most disturbing story in the entire game. I always make sure to kill every Falmer in there as slowly and painfully as possible,” said TheArcanist_1.
“The world of Skyrim isn’t too bad after going through that horror,” exclaimed xprozoomy.
I think it’s fair to say that Skyrim is full of so many fantastic stories with some certainly being more heartbreaking than others, we could be talking about its quests for many more years to come. At least until The Elder Scrolls VI finally arrives.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s also included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
