A dark fantasy expansion to be played

There are so many mods and fan-made expansions for Skyrim that it can be dizzying, so when a fan mentions one that has to be played, it’s worth paying attention.

Beyond Reach is a mod that vastly expands the story, lore, and world of Skyrim far beyond (pardon the pun) the original game, and it was all created by fans.

A player who recommended the mod over on Reddit, mentioned this, “The scope of the mod is actually incredible, considering that the author did most of the work on his own. Even as it is, it’s what I always wished Skyrim to be.”

They noted that the new storyline is “mature” and, while I haven’t played the mod myself, it does sound like it tackles serious topics such as genocide.

It seems like, from the comments within the thread, that Beyond Reach is a great expansion with a problematic character in Damien.

“I kill Damian EVERY TIME WITH NO REGRETS. Man, f**k him,” exclaims one Skyrim fan.

From what I’ve gathered from the thread, it appears that the plot has a lot of threads around the ideas of genocide, with plenty of darker turns of conversation with NPCs.

“It’s so far the only Skyrim mod I’ve played with serious literary merit, by which I mean things like symbolism and themes,” comments C-McGuire.

With lots of in-game lore and conversations to absorb, this mod is considered one that explores the races, war, and battles of the land.

Many consider it to be a ‘must play’ with one fan eagerly saying, “You’re damn right. It’s f**king beautiful. And brutal.”

Beyond Reach is noted to be an “adult” mod on NexusMods, so if you’re tempted to play it, be aware it deals with many mature themes.
