Will we ever get over Skyrim? It’s looking increasingly unlikely.

In fact, recently, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition almost surpassed its peak number of players.

Currently, the record stands at 69,906, as per SteamDB.

It came close to breaking that record, with its new 24-hour peak player count now set at 67,622.

Undeniably, the reason for this sudden boom in players is due to its ridiculously low price right now. For just £3.49 you can claim this outstanding game, though please be warned, this weekend deal will soon be gone.

By the end of 20 January, it’ll no longer be available, with Skyrim returning to its usual price of £34.99.

Will the resurgence in players see that record smashed? As much as we’d like that to happen, it seems unlikely.

At the time of writing this, the current player count is 41,963. Although a staggering number, with the sale soon to end, it seems like the chance of exceeding 69,906 has passed.

Nonetheless, it’s an impressive feat to see this 13 year old Bethesda title still pulling in players.

Should you be one of the rare few who’ve yet to explore the depths of this Elder Scrolls adventure, now is the time to change that grave mistake.
