Following the disaster of Suicide Squad, Rocksteady is finally looking ahead to the future. Reports suggest the studio is revisiting its single-player roots, with a return to the Batman IP all but certain.

However, the team may be approaching the IP differently than expected. According to a known leaker, the studio will focus on the Batman Beyond story for its next game.

Following reports of the studio’s return to its older franchise, popular leaker Lunatic Ignus shared his two cents on the matter. He stated that it’s likely Batman Beyond is the developer’s next target. Interestingly, this is not the first time Lunatic Ignus has alluded to this possibility.

For the unaware, a Batman Beyond-inspired game was previously said to be in development by WB Games Montreal, the same team that released Gotham Knights a few years ago and is currently helping with Wonder Woman.

This project was scrapped mid-development many years ago, but evidence related to the project was last spotted as recently as early 2024. As such, it would not be shocking to see Rocksteady reusing elements of WB Games Montreal’s work.

The most interesting part about this leak is the fact that Batman Beyond is far from similar to Rocksteady’s past work related to the character.
