The Penguin Season 2 could feature the Batman by bringing in Bruce Wayne’s other famous identity.

There are many aspects of Batman, being hailed as the world’s greatest detective on more than one occasion. However, there are other alter egos that Bruce Wayne has dawned in his crusade against the criminal underworld of Gotham.

While Batman strikes fear in the hearts of criminals and Bruce Wayne remains the public identity of…well, Bruce Wayne, there is one other persona that the Bat of Gotham crafted for himself, with the sole purpose of getting information that would otherwise be unavailable to him. Should the DCU stay separate from the Reeves-verse, Batman may appear in the second season of The Penguin as Matches Malone.

Matches Malone is the fake criminal identity adopted by Bruce Wayne to harvest information from Gotham’s criminal underbelly, the kind that does not come through electronic surveillance. One of the places that the characters often frequented is the Iceberg Lounge, The Penguin’s old stomping grounds.

Given that Batman and the Bat family at large have often found themselves in the Iceberg Lounge, this job becomes infinitely easier given that The Penguin will probably not be hanging out in the lounge anymore, having moved up.

Bringing Matches Malone into the Reeves-verse has its perks, given that the alter ego would be a much better way of collecting information, rather than using a computer that borders on turning any Batman story into a science fiction narrative. However, it would be pretty interesting to see how more of Batman’s gizmos are translated to the world that Matt Reeves has created.

Audiences are convinced that the next Batman villain in the Reeves-verse will be Mister Freeze

The Riddler was a brilliant character as an antagonist for Batman and is very well-updated for a modern audience. However, there have been a lot of clues that point toward who the next antagonist of the Reeves-verse will be. A slew of fans have been making the case for Mister Freeze, who is a science-fiction character in the otherwise mundane mythology of the Bat of Gotham.

Mister Freeze could complement the winter setting of the upcoming Batman film and also serve as a good complimentary antagonist to The Penguin while taking on Batman and his allies. It remains to be seen how far down the mythology of Batman Matt Reeves goes, but fans are definitely interested in how the director decides to interpret it.

The Penguin is streaming on Max.
