STOP HARVESTING. THE SCHOLARS ARE HOLDING THE REAL LOOT. 🧪💎
Tired of grinding for Brimstone, Mercury, and Rubber like a peasant? While most players are out breaking their backs in the fields, the pros have discovered a “Social Engineering” loophole in Scholar Stone that provides infinite rare materials with zero harvesting. It turns out, if you know what to give them, these scholars are literal ATMs for the rarest resources in Pywel. 🧐🔥
Why are people wearing the Rabbit Letter Mask while talking to Ogres, and how can one single Gold Bar be used to scam an entire village of human scholars? From the “Ivory Heist” south of the Abyss Nexus to the secret Fruit Tea recipes in the Witch’s cauldron, we’ve found the ultimate gift-giving guide to max out trust in seconds. There’s even a “Pickpocket Loop” that lets you steal your gold back after you’ve already been rewarded. It’s dirty, it’s effective, and it’s breaking the crafting economy. 💰⚔️
The rare material drought is over. Follow the gifts, wear the mask, and claim the rewards. 👇

In the wake of Patch 1.04.00, a new “Diplomatic” meta has emerged that is making traditional harvesting obsolete. Players have identified the area known as Scholar Stone as a gold mine for rare crafting materials—specifically Brimstone, Mercury, and Rubber. By exploiting the “Vendor Trust” system, mercenaries are now obtaining these resources through high-speed gifting and tactical pickpocketing rather than manual labor.
The ‘Trust ATM’ of Scholar Stone
The strategy centers on the diverse cast of NPC scholars residing in the Scholar Stone region. Maxing out an NPC’s trust provides a high-probability reward of rare materials or even Faded Abyss Artifacts. However, the community has discovered that each race—Ogres, Orcs, Goblins, and Humans—has a “favored gift” that makes this process incredibly fast.
Ogres: Accept any form of Hide, providing an easy dump for low-tier loot.
Orcs: Favor Ivory, which can be farmed in bulk from giant cows south of the Abyss Nexus.
Goblins: Can be swayed with Fruit Tea, easily brewed in any Witch’s cauldron.
Humans: The most versatile race, accepting Coin Pouches or a single Gold Bar for an instant trust max.
The Rabbit Mask & Solidarity Synergy
To maximize efficiency, players are flocking to Karen Quarry to retrieve the Rabbit Letter Mask. Wearing this item provides a +2 bonus to trust points per gift, effectively reducing the material cost of each reward. When paired with Solidarity Abyss Gear, the trust gain is so high that players can “process” an entire group of scholars in minutes.
The ‘Infinite Gold’ Pickpocket Loop
The most controversial tactic reported involves human scholars and the use of Gold Bars. By giving a scholar a single gold bar, players instantly trigger the max-trust reward. However, instead of moving on, elite players are immediately pickpocketing the NPC to steal the gold bar back.
“It’s a low-risk, high-reward loop,” explained a trader at the Hernand markets. “You get the Brimstone or Mercury reward, then you take your gold back. Even if you get caught, the bounty is negligible in this area, and you can just move to the next scholar.”
Environmental Limitations
Pearl Abyss seems to have anticipated some level of abuse, as the NPCs in Scholar Stone do not respawn once their individual trust is maxed. However, the sheer density of scholars in the area means that most players can acquire more than enough materials for a full playthrough—including the resources needed for the Aeserion and Ephemeral weapon lines—before the area is “tapped out.”
Tactical Farming: The Giant Cow Route
To fuel this diplomatic engine, players have optimized a farming route south of Scholar Stone near a honey farm. By using Blinding Flash finishers on giant cows near a teleporter, players can harvest Hides and Ivory in seconds. The “Nexus Reload” technique—teleporting out and back into the area—respawns the animals instantly, providing a near-infinite supply of “diplomatic currency.”
As the price of Mercury and Rubber continues to drop in the player-driven economy, many are wondering if the “Scholar Loop” will be the next target for a developer hotfix. For now, the smartest mercenaries aren’t in the mines; they’re in the library, bearing gifts and hidden daggers.
