Deadline reports that Isabella Bucceri, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, Salóme Gunnarsdóttir (Justice League, The Lazarus Project), Björn Landberg, and Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok, Saw X) have all joined the cast of The Wheel of Time‘s third season. The series is led by Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney and Josha Stradowski. Character descriptions from Deadline also reveal which characters the actors will play, with the series being based on the books of the same name by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.
Bucceri plays Faile Bashere, a Saldaen noblewoman who travels to Illian to pledge herself as a Hunter of the Horn. The character first appeared in Chapter 33 of The Dragon Reborn, the third book in the series. Coster-Waldau will play Bair, a Wise One whose “authority and wisdom are held in higher regard even than that of the Clan Chief”. The character can channel the One Power and has access to “even more mystical ability” which will be revealed in upcoming episodes of The Wheel of Time.

Gunnarsdóttir will play Melaine, a Wise One who is not able to channel but also has access to a “more mystical power”. Landberg is Rhuarc, the clan chief of the Taardad Aiel and one of the few characters who knows what lies within the mysterious fog — but he is forbidden to speak on the matter. Lastly, Lund will play Melhindra, a Malkiere survivor taken in and raised by the Taardad Aiel.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 Set for March Release
The first season of The Wheel of Time’s TV adaptation premiered in November 2021 on Prime Video and introduced fans to Moiraine Damodred (Pike), a member of the Aes Sedai organization of women able to channel the One Power. She seeks out five young people, believing one of them is the reincarnated Dragon — an extremely powerful male channeler responsible for the historical event known as the Breaking of the World. The Dragon Reborn is foretold to either save the world from the evil Dark One — or break the world once again. The first season was based on The Eye of the World, the first book in the high fantasy series, with elements from later books introduced.
The Wheel of Time‘s second season was based on The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn, the second and third books in the series respectively. At the end of the show’s second season, Rand (Stradowski) is proclaimed to be the Dragon Reborn before the whole city after defeating Ishamael (Fares Fares). The third season of the show is set up to see even more threats appear as enemies pursue the Dragon like never before, forcing Moiraine and Rand’s closest friends to prevent the Dragon from turning to the dark side. A trailer for the new season was unveiled last month.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 will premiere March 13 on Prime Video.
