The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt player admits that they never pick Triss, because they’re afraid of pissing off Yennefer.

To this very day, despite being originally released back in 2015 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the action RPG from CD Projekt Red is one of the best games in its genre. This is aided by the fact that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S recently had a new-gen update.

One of the greatest aspects of The Witcher 3 is its sense of adventure in a brimming world with vast terrains, diverse communities and deadly creatures that are looking to kill you at every turn. The game also encourages player choice, whether it’s choosing where to venture next or how we interact with NPCs.

A popular choice that is granted to players is the choice to romance either Yennefer of Vengerberg or Triss Merigold. The time in which I’ve played The Witcher 3, I chose Yennefer and I can remember at the time, thinking, that doesn’t look like a lady that I’d want to piss off. Sure, we know that Triss is not to be trifled with either, but Yennefer certainly looks a little less friendly.

Well, it seems that my initial instincts may not have been wrong, because it seems that I’m not the only player that is a little afraid of Yennefer.

“In all my 3 playthroughs I’ve never romanced Triss because I’m too afraid Yennifer would get angry…,” said Redditor KinkyKabuki.

“I felt like such a bitch when I told her I didn’t love her anymore during my Triss playthrough. The look on her face was awful. I’m not doing it again,” replied INFJ_witchergirl. “Honestly, I’d be friends with Triss. She’s fun. But Yen is the wife, and whatever you do, do not. Make. The Wife. Mad,” added FootieMob812.

“I told myself that I would try to romance Triss. I’m on my 3rd playthrough and still haven’t done it. Team yen all the way,” exclaimed Hylanmaster. Don’t get us wrong, we love Triss, she’s awesome, but if Henry Cavill also prefers Yennefer, you go tell Superman and Geralt that we’re wrong.
