The Witcher 4 may have only just been announced but ahead of the highly-anticipated sequel, CD Projekt RED has already treated fans to some free downloads.

The Game Awards 2024 was one of the best in recent years and it was no doubt in part to the world premiere of The Witcher 4.

As the fourth main instalment in CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher franchise, The Witcher 4 will follow the story of Ciri (much to *some* people’s dismay) as she embarks on her very own journey of discovery.

There is no denying that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has cemented itself as a modern-day classic so flocks of fans will be diving into its sequel when it launches.

However, with it not expecting to arrive until at least 2026, we still have a bit of a wait.

Luckily, CD Projekt RED is treating us to some free downloads so we can at least wait in style.

Posted to the official The Witcher Twitter account, a set of wallpapers celebrating The Witcher 4 are now available to download for absolutely free.

To celebrate the “next chapter of The Witcher saga”, fans can head to the official website and choose from up to seven 4k wallpapers.

So whether you want to set them as your desktop backgrounds or even just take in the details of the magnificent reveal trailer, it is now possible to do so.

Featuring Ciri in her full Witcher form, a shot of her iconic sword and even the hulking figure of the monster she finds herself battling, these free downloads have something for everyone.

The Witcher 4 is already at the center of discourse thanks to some “fans” being unhappy that Geralt of Rivia will no longer be the franchise’s main character.

However, with the man himself expected to appear in at least some capacity, it is about time that Ciri had her time to shine and I, for one, cannot wait.
