In 2021, Before Your Eyes was a game that flew under my radar – so much so that I only recently heard about it. Being given the summary that it is a deeply emotional narrative-driven experience, yet receiving no information whatsoever about its plot (other than it had the potential to make one weep uncontrollably), I immediately purchased it on Steam, without the current discount. I played through it earlier this year, and it’s easily the best game I’ve put my hands on in 2025, even if it’s not technically a game from this year.

I remember playing the game and sobbing uncontrollably at the very end, unable to even speak for a few minutes. After that, my first instinct was to recommend it to all my friends who appreciate indie games with devastating and well-written stories.
