This Baldur’s Gate 3’s Armour Glitch Turns Your Party Unstoppable: ‘The Buff Is Absolutely Broken!’” — Unravel Why Players Are Exploiting It Below!

Shadowheart after killing the Nightsong and becoming a Dark Justicier in Baldur's Gate 3. There’s a piece of gear in Baldur’s Gate 3 called the Shadeclinger Armour that you can grab in Act 2 at the Last Light Inn. It might not seem like much, giving you just +1 to stealth and Advantage on saving throws while obscured, but it’s actually “broken as hell.”

As u/Randomly_Typing76 pointed out, you don’t need to have the armour equipped for the Advantage to work. You can take it off, and the effect will remain until you long rest. So, if you slot it on your hotbar, you can quickly acquire the Clinging Shadows condition and swap to another set of armour at the start of every day, potentially getting two buffs at once.

This completely negates the downside of Risky Ring and Resonance Stone.

This already makes it an invaluable piece of gear, but As u/OldLove8431 explained, you can make everyone in your party equip and unequip the Shadeclinger Armour at the start of the day. Doing so will give them all Advantage on saving throws. Whether this is intentional or not is unclear, but given that the armour only costs 130 gold, it’s worth grabbing.

Where To Get Shadeclinger Armour

To give this a try for yourself, you need to find Quartermaster Talli at the Last Light Inn. If that name isn’t ringing a bell, it’s the big settlement surrounded in a magical dome where you can rest from the Shadow-Cursed Lands alongside the Harpers, Flaming Fists, and tiefling refugees.

You’ll find Talli in the courtyard, but if you attack Moonrise Towers, she’ll move there after the battle. Alternatively, if you fail to save Isobel, everyone in Last Light Inn, including Talli, will turn into a Shadow-Cursed Undead. So, if you’re planning to take that route, grab the armour first.

You could put together some interesting, obscure-focused builds with this strategy in mind, manipulating the semi-permanent benefit of the armour to double up on effects.

For example, if you were to swap to the Penumbral Armour, you would gain Advantage on saving throws and a +3 bonus to stealth checks. Combine that with the Shadow Blade and the Least Expected Bow, and when hiding in the dark, you’d also gain an Advantage on attack roles against other obscured targets, and a +1d4 bonus to your ranged attacks.

If you’re playing a stealth class, there’s no real reason not to grab the Shadeclinger Armour.
