It’s mind-boggling how Todd Howard decided to remove one of the best questlines in Fallout 4, which changed the game completely.

It’s been almost a decade since the release of Fallout 4, and despite the mixed reaction by hardcore fans of the franchise, it’s proven to be a massive hit. Even though Bethesda has continued to release updates for the title, many things didn’t manage to make it to the final build.

Thanks to tons of devoted fans, we know what Todd Howard and his team left on the cutting room floor. There are several quests, items, and monsters that didn’t make it to Fallout 4. However, there’s one questline in particular that definitely deserves its place in the game due to the fact that it allows you to become the Elder of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Bethesda made a mistake by ruining this quest in Fallout 4

It’s a known fact that Todd Howard and his team brought various changes to Fallout 4‘s overall narrative. However, one of the biggest pieces to the Brotherhood of Steel questline was abandoned entirely.
Paladin Danse, who we all know as a Brotherhood companion, is someone you can travel with. In the “Blind Betrayal” quest, a scan of the Insitute’s databases ends up revealing that Danse is also a synth. When the Brotherhood ends up finding this out, Danse goes into hiding, and Elder Maxson tasks you with locating and eliminating him.
Once you locate Danse, you’re given the option of ending his life or helping him escape. If you let him escape, you’ll be raided by Maxson, who orders you to kill Danse, or he will get rid of both of you. You can also opt to talk to Maxson about sparing Danse and exiling him instead.
However, there was supposed to be another approach to this storyline. The cut path would’ve allowed you to team up with Danse, fight off against Maxson, and end his life. After this, you would become the leader of the Brotherhood.
It’s not that Bethesda decided to axe this part of the storyline completely out of Fallout 4; a big part of it was written and recorded by Danse’s voice actor, and all of this can still be found deep within the post-apocalyptic title’s files.

If you’re someone who’s itching to play Fallout 4 on a handheld, there’s some good news. According to leaker eXtas1s, Microsoft is planning to drop Diablo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Starfield, and Fallout 4 on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
It’s not surprising to see Bethesda games might be getting a port to the next-generation handheld. Todd Howard and his team brought Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim to the original Switch, so it makes sense for them to bring some of the studio’s other games on the console’s successor.
Fallout 4 is still a popular title despite its flaws, and while Starfield was bashed upon release, it’s been a massive success financially. Bringing the next Fallout game on Switch 2 could bring even more attention to the franchise.
With that said, do you think Bethesda should release all the deleted quests as a separate DLC for Fallout 4? Let us know in the comments below.
