Instead of repeating history like their Spidey predecessors, Tom Holland Zendaya has taken their bond to the next step.

Similar to Spider-Man and his love interests, their real-life counterparts haven’t had a smooth sailing shot at dating. While most Spidey couples’ chemistry translated into the real world (cough cough Shameik Moore), they didn’t exactly have a fairytale ending, which involves Tobey Maguire-Kirsten Dunst, and Andrew Garfield-Emma Stone.

However, Zendaya and Tom Holland are proving to be the exception, and even though the two haven’t been very public about their romantic bond, they have seemingly taken their relationship to the next step.

Instead of walking in the footsteps of previous Spidey couples, Zendaya and Tom Holland have opted to take their bond to the next level, as TMZ reported that the two are now engaged. Notable for wowing audiences with her attire at major events, Zendaya was seen flaunting her ring, which many presumed was her engagement ring from her No Way Home costar.

Per reports, instead of a grand ceremony, the duo reportedly resorted to a more intimate and romantic setting for the engagement, which isn’t surprising. Although it remains to be seen when the duo will tie the knot, which seems pretty likely, Holland on the flip side has entertained the prospect of leaving Hollywood for fatherhood.

Since finding his footing as MCU’s Spider-Man, which kickstarted his relationship with Zendaya, Holland has cemented himself as one of the leading figures in Hollywood, and for good reason. While he isn’t giving up his stint as the webhead anytime soon, as The Crowded Room star is currently gearing him up for his fourth standalone feature, a first for a Spider-Man actor, Holland does aspire to leave Hollywood at some point (via Men’s Health).

Having already taken a break from acting after an excruciating experience in The Crowded Room, Holland confessed that once he has kids, the actor plans to prioritize being a dad and play golf, adding, “You will not see me in movies anymore”.

When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.

On the flip side, the actor is enthralled to return to the shoes of Peter Parker, which boils down to the quality of the script, which got both him and Zendaya overjoyed.

Spider-Man 4 is slated to hit theatres on 24 July 2026.
