As a kid, he fell through a glass door and almost lost his leg. His leg was hanging off, he admitted. The recovery, though, took nearly a year. But in true Sean Bean style, he shrugged it off, saying (via EmpireOnline),

The revelation dropped during a throwback celebration of LOTR’s 15th anniversary. Bean reminisced about filming Boromir’s epic death scene and soaking in New Zealand’s jaw-dropping scenery. Apparently, some cast members were out there fishing in costume at night, just your typical Middle-earth shenanigans.
When he’s not crushing iconic roles, Bean’s got a green thumb. He’s been planting trees like it’s a mission — birch, elder, hawthorn — you name it. He admitted casually planning his own mini-forest,
Some weeping silver birch and willow. I intend to plant more saplings of elder, hornbeam, dogwood and hawthorn every autumn, so in time I’ll create a small wood with various leaf colours. My garden is a mixture of topiaries and evergreens, with areas of wilderness you can get lost in.

Sean Bean’s seen it all, but this one takes the cake. On The Jonathan Ross Show, the Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings legend spilled on a fan encounter that got way out of hand. Turns out, one fan sent him photos of their faces morphed together with the message:
And another one that kind of used to send me pictures of her face and mine, kind of morphed into one. She says, ‘We are one with you are me and I am you.
Yep, seriously. But it didn’t stop there. She later showed up at a LOTR event and tried to bust through security barriers. Bean admitted his Sheffield accent made it sound almost charming,
I did something for this Lord of the Rings PR thing, and she was in the audience, and she tried to break through the barriers, we had to restrain her.
Still, he’s got nothing but love for LOTR fans, calling them “complimentary” and acknowledging how much the films mean to them.
