Unleash Havoc in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with These 10 Game-Changing Weapons! From Maelle’s Fiery Blades to Verso’s Immortal Sword—Discover Why They’re the Talk of Gamers! 👇

Gustave & Maelle with weapons In Clair Obscur Expedition 33 There are a ton of weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for each playable character, and it’s a bit daunting to try to figure out the best option for your preferred builds and playstyle. That being said, there are some clear outliers for every character in terms of best weapons for any occasion. No matter your party composition or specific character builds, choosing the best weapon that synergizes with its wielder’s skills and upgrading it as much as possible is a surefire way to take down even the most formidable enemies.

The following ten weapons in Clair Obscur are among the best of the best for each character, and will be optimal for a majority of the endgame enemies you face off against. It’s very likely you might need to change your character builds or party setup depending on the area you’re in or which boss you’re fighting, so having a small variety of some of the best fully upgraded weapons isn’t a bad idea.

Confuso Scales Nicely As You Progress

Verso Can Convert Light To Burn With Confuso

The Confuso sword and dagger combo scales with Luck and Agility, and is one of Verso’s best weapon options in the game, with a unique Level 4 ability that allows Light damage to inflict Burn when landing a critical hit. At Level 10, it will enable Verso apply Burn instead of Mark, making his Marking Shot and Defiant Strike skills essential with Confuso equipped. Its Level 20 skill enhances Burn considerably and is devastating against any enemies weak to fire and Burn damage.

Confuso deals Light damage inherently, but using any of his Light skills that land a critical hit have the potential to stack Burn on enemies.

Confuso’s Level 20 upgrade increases Burn damage by 50% per Rank, maxing out at a 300% buff at Rank S. You can find Confuso in the Joyous Vale in Visages, and you will be able to generate ridiculous stacks of Burn if you take advantage of the various Burn Luminas, such as Double Burn . This is a great companion weapon to further buff Maelle’s Burn Skills and weapons.

Blizzon Packs A Punch

Buff Sciel’s Moon Skills, But Take More Damage

The Blizzon is one of Sciel’s unique scythe weapons that allows her to buff damage using Moon charges and makes all Moon skill attacks critical. This is one of Sciel’s best offensive options in the game, especially at Level 20 when its upgrade allows Base Attacks to add a Moon charge. You will be able to buff her damage output considerably by efficiently stacking Moon charges, with a 25% damage increase per Moon card.

Blizzon is found in Falling Leaves by defeating the Chromatic Ballet enemy, and it only scales with Luck. This is advantageous in the endgame because it frees up points to invest more evenly across Sciel’s other attributes, and will maximize her Critical Rate from attributes, though you should definitely invest in Critical Rate-boosting Pictos as well. If you can avoid taking damage entirely, The One Pictos is a perfect choice for a Blizzon build.

Chalium Is A Parrying Machine

A Defensive Option That Buffs Maelle’s Counterattacks

Clair Obscur Chalium in inventory

If you’re taking a defensive approach to your Maelle build in Clair Obscur, the Chalium sword is easily the best option, but you need to have a good handle on your Parrying skills to use it effectively. At Level 4, as long as you end every turn in Defensive Stance, Chalium gives Maelle one shield per successful Parry, which are then lost once her turn starts. This is a decent ability in itself, but at Level 20 you will receive a 50% increase to Counter damage per active Shield.

With Chalium, the more shields you can stack from Parries and other sources, the better, and while it might be difficult to land counterattacks on every enemy, when you are successful the damage buff is OP. Chalium also scales with Vitality and Agility, boosting Maelle’s Health and Speed while also increasing weapon power. This is a defensive option that works well with a support build for Maelle, or as an alternative to the Medalum, listed below. You can get Chalium in the Sinister Cave by fighting the Chromatic Challier.

Joyaro Provides Massive Damage

One Of Monoco’s Few Overpowered Options

Joyaro is one of the few Monoco weapons that outshines many other weapons in Clair Obscur when appropriately utilized. Monoco as a more limited set of weapon options available, with Joyaro being a top recommendation. Joyaro is among the best damage-dealing weapons in the game, with a Level 4 upgrade that automatically starts Monoco in Almighty Mask. At Level 10, you can deal 20% increased damage for each turn you didn’t take any damage, up to a 100% damage buff. At Level 20, Break Damage is doubled while in Almighty Mask.

All together, these three effects will have Monoco dealing massive damage that fills enemy Break Bars almost instantaneously, depending on their Defenses at least. Be sure to have a Break Skill equipped for Monoco, such as Bruler Bash or Portier Crash . You can get Joyaro by fighting the Lampmaster in Flying Manor in Act 3, a reskinned and much more powerful version of the one you saw at the end of Act 1.

Angerim Is A Great Fire Option

Among The Top Lune Fire Weapons Available

Clair Obscur Angerim for Lune in Inventory Clair Obscur Lune in Flying Manor Clair Obscur Lune and Verso at campfire with journals Clair Obscur Angerim for Lune in Inventory Clair Obscur Lune in Flying Manor Clair Obscur Lune and Verso at campfire with journals

Lune has a ton of excellent weapon options, but Angerim is arguably one of the best Fire-based weapons available for her. At Level 10, the upgrade generates two Fire Stains automatically at the start of each turn. At Level 20, Fire Stains increase Burn damage by 30% per Stain, with the potential to increase Burn damage by 120% with four active Fire stains.

These two features make it yet another Burn-focused weapon that synergizes well with the Burn-enhancing weapons on this list for the other characters in Clair Obscur. Angerim scales with Luck and Defense, and having a decent critical hit rate and high speed will be important for making the most out of this Lune weapon. You can get the Angerim by defeating the Chromatic Demineur on the Continent overworld, near the Forgotten Battlefield during Act 3 when you can fly.

Chation Is A Late-Gamer Powerhouse

Sciel’s Best Overall Weapon

Clair Obscur Chation Sciel weapon

In my view, Chation is Sciel’s best weapon option in the late game due to its versatile damage types and upgrade features. Chation’s element is Dark, yet it has an upgrade that can possibly inflict Burn, so it will be useful against a wider range of enemies than most of her other weapons. At Level 4, Chation allows Sun Skills to apply 10 Foretell automatically, and while there is a debuff that makes Sciel take more damage, it’s worth it if you’re worth your salt at dodging and parrying.

For a Sciel support build, consider using Ramasson and skills such as Grim Harvest to buff the entire party and keep their Health up.

At Level 10, Chation’s Base Attack can provide a Dark charge and inflict Burn, while at Level 20, she gets 100% Burn damage while in Twilight State. This will synergize with Maelle’s and Lune’s Burn abilities, and is possibly the best offensive option for Sciel. You can get Chation early on in Stone Wave Cliffs, and it scales with Luck and Vitality.

Braselim Is Key For Lune

A Critical Burner For Lune

Clair Obscur Braselim Lune weapon in inventory

Braselim is a candidate for one of the best Lune weapons, dealing extreme Fire and Critical Hit damage to enemies and filling Gradient Charges in the process. This is the best weapon for a Critical-based Lune build that buffs her attack power for the highest critical rate and damage possible. You’ll want a balance of Fire and Ice skills in your arsenal, with your high-damage skills being Hell and Fire Rage .

At Level 4, Braselim provides a Critical Chance buff of 30% per active Ice Stain, while you’ll also get a +5% Gradient Charge for criticals when upgraded to Level 10. At Level 20, all Fire damage from Skills is increased by 20%. Braselim is acquired Inside the Monolith near the end of Act 2.

Glaceso Is A Good Ice Weapon

Verso’s Best Critical Hit Weapon

Clair Obscur Verso Glaceso weapon Clair Obscur verso and maelle after alicia Clair Obscur Verso Sciel and Monoco Clair Obscur Verso Glaceso weapon Clair Obscur verso and maelle after alicia Clair Obscur Verso Sciel and Monoco

The Glaceso is a versatile Verso weapon that I recommend as a balance to whichever Fire-based character build you have in your party, assuming you have one at all. Glaceso is a high-damage-dealing Ice weapon that can increase Verso’s Perfection extremely fast if you have his Critical Rate pumped up to the max. Verso has a couple Critical Hit-based attacks that work really well with Glaceso: Strike Storm (Verso) and Assault Zero .

It isn’t entirely clear to me if anything over a 100% Critical Rate has additional benefits, but I was able to increase Verso’s Critical Rate to 286% with Pictos such as The One .

Glaceso gains +1 Perfection on Critical Hits, which will be nearly all of his hits if you’re at or above 100% Crit Rate. Critical Hits will then Heal Verso by 2% once upgraded to Level 10, and at Level 20, all Counterattacks are automatically Critical.

Scaverim Unlocks Dark Potential

The Darkest Of Lune’s Weapons

Clair Obscur Scaverim for Lune in Inventory

While Lune typically generates five Elemental Stain types – Earth, Ice, Fire, Lightning, & Light – there are a few unique weapons that allow her to generate Dark Stains. Scaverim is one such Lune weapon, and it’s easily my favorite and arguably the most powerful weapon available for her. Scaverim’s Level 4 upgrade gives it a 50% chance to generate a Dark Stain when you consume a Stain, and Lune will deal 50% more damage with Skills per active Dark Stain.

At Level 10, you can consume a Dark Stain with a Base Attack to deal 200% more damage, and at Level 20, if you have four Dark Stains active, any skill you use will get a 300% damage increase and consume all Stains. While it seems complicated at first, it’s an incredible damage bonus that’s effective against most major enemies in the game.

Medalum – The Burns Add Up

Turn & Burn With Maelle’s Best Weapon

For many reasons, Medalum gets my vote for best weapon in the game, primarily because it puts Maelle at a serious advantage if you set things up properly. Medalum starts Maelle off in Virtuose Stance, doubles every Burn applied while in Virtuose Stance, and deals double Burn damage while in Virtuose Stance. With skills like Pyrolyse and Burning Canvas as well as the Double Burn Pictos/Lumina equipped, you’ll be able to stack a ton of Burn on your first turn.

With so many different weapons available in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, there are very few that aren’t completely viable for a powerful build of their own. One of the great things about this game is the range of possibilities with Pictos, Luminas, Weapons, and Skills that allow for countless different playstyles.
