The Game Awards 2024 was a massive event that was packed with a number of exciting reveals. From The Witcher 4 to an Elden Ring spinoff, there was something for everyone. However, one of the biggest reveals of the show was Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Even though it looks to be an incredible project, there are some unbelievable complaints regarding the title’s protagonist, Jordan, who is an Asian woman with a shaved head. This has led to claims of Sony and Naughty Dog going the “woke” route and bringing DEI into its game.

However, that hasn’t stopped Naughty Dog from collaborating with one of the biggest automobile names, Porsche, to bring a special ship to the studio’s upcoming title.

We’re all used to seeing Porsche do a lot of things outside of building luxury sports cars. The brand has stepped into the world of clothing, shoes, and accessories. However, it’s now taking things up a notch by collaborating with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Porsche has partnered up with Naughty Dog to craft a special spaceship for Intergalactic. It’s called the “Porsche 948 Tempest NDX” and is going to be one of the main means of getting around for Jordan in the game.

It’s a known fact that crafting a game isn’t that easy for developers anymore. Game development costs a lot and can prove to be a financial mess for even a studio like NaughtyDog that’s under the wing of Sony. There’s no doubt that Porsche must’ve paid a good amount to be featured in this game, as it’s going to get a lot of publicity for its brand among gamers.

In the future, we could even see other big car names such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, and McLaren jumping on the trend and sponsoring AAA games to get attention from one of the biggest audiences out there. It’s going to help developers offset the cost of development and give fans some car designs that they would love.

It’s going to be interesting to see what other big names Naughty Dog partners up with in the future. Considering the game’s setting, we could see companies and brands from other mediums jumping into the title.

When is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet coming out?

Intergalactic is the first new IP for Naughty Dog in years. The studio has been working on this sci-fi project for a while and hasn’t returned to its previously established titles. So, it’s not a surprise that gamers can’t wait to get their hands on this title and experience Naughty Dog’s incredible work.

However, it looks like it’s going to be a long while before this game hits the shelves. Neither PlayStation Studios nor Naughty Dogs has opened up about the release date or period for Intergalactic. This is likely due to the fact that the game is years away from a release.

It’s been confirmed that Naughty Dog started developing the title back in 2020. While it generally takes a team of developers to craft a game within a period of three to four years, it’s likely that the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the studio’s production pipeline.

This explains why Naughty Dog hasn’t made many remasters or remakes of its legendary titles lately.
