‘We’re Listening to Fans’: Sandfall Interactive Teases a Game-Changing Addition to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Breathtaking World—Find Out What’s Got Players Hyped! 👇

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Verso Close Up Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a gorgeous game: the environments, the character models, the creature design; the visuals in Sandfall Interactive’s smash-hit JRPG (J’RPG?) are rightfully lauded.

The visual quality of the game has resulted in a vocal component of the community requesting a photo mode, something that’s becoming more standard in modern RPGs. For instance, Baldur’s Gate 3 received a photo mode in its eighth and final patch earlier this year.

Photo Mode “High on List” Of Priorities

In an interview with Final Fantasy Union, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 art director Nicholas Maxon touched on this subject, saying there have been a lot of internal requests within Sandfall for a photo mode, too (nice spot, GameSpot).

“It is very high on the list of things we want to do because, obviously, it’s requested a lot, even internally, people from the team just [want] a photo,” Maxon explains. “It’s a lot more work than some […] stuff, but it’s definitely something that we would like to do.”

As with every relatively new release, however, Sandfall is currently focused on quality of life updates and bug fixes.

“Right now, our biggest focus is just fixing all the little bugs here and there that we see popping up from the internet,” Maxon continues. “But we definitely have a list of changes that we want to do. For example, the Lumina loadouts. We are working on them, we are working on just seeing when we can make it happen.”

Maxon is referring to the ability to create Lumina presets for characters, allowing you to easily swap between these presets depending on the upcoming fight. It can be quite tedious to go into the menu and manually swap Luminas, so this will be a welcome change when it happens.

As for the photo mode, I already snap 15 screenshots a second during the game’s cutscenes, so I don’t think my storage could handle a dedicated photo mode. They’ll never take away my 1 terabyte folder full of pictures of Verso smouldering at the camera.
