Gradually, the series has been working to reveal their identities. Season 2 confirmed that in addition to Lanfear and Ishamael, there’s also Sammael, Graendal, and Moghedien. That left three more to speculate about; season 3 wasted little time introducing more of them, officially debuting Rahvin in episode 2 and namedropping Semirhage in episode 3. As for the show’s eighth Forsaken, the show has been keeping this detail close to the chest. Theoretically, it could be any one of five characters – but three feel more likely than the others. It’s doubtful that Mesaana, Aginor, or Balthamel is part of the show’s plans.
Be’lal
Be’lal Could Fight Rand & Moiriane At The Stone Of Tear

Arguably the easiest Forsaken to remove from the equation are Aginor, Balthamel, and Be’lal, considering that none of the three survive their first encounter with Wheel of Time’s main characters. Aginor and Balthamel die consecutively in The Eye of the World’s ending, and Be’lal meets his end when he gets Balefired by Moiraine in The Dragon Reborn’s finale. The Wheel of Time predictably skipped both Balthamel and Aginor, but could possibly take a different approach to Be’lal, who challenges Rand when he arrives at the Stone of Tear to claim Callandor in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time books.
The Wheel of Time utilizing Be’lal makes sense to some degree, since the prospect of a Forsaken waiting to ambush Rand at the Stone of Tear has already been raised in season 3
The Wheel of Time utilizing Be’lal makes sense to some degree, since the prospect of a Forsaken waiting to ambush Rand at the Stone of Tear has already been raised in season 3. If that’s true, Be’lal could appear near the end of the season – or whenever Rand makes it to the Stone of Tear – for one epic confrontation with the Dragon Reborn. This would keep one of the show’s eight Forsaken from having a significant presence in the narrative, but could still amount to an impressive win for the character who kills him, whether it’s Rand or Moiraine.
Demandred
Demandred Could Be Saved For One Of The Show’s Last Seasons

An even stronger candidate for the final spot in the show’s Forsaken lineup is Demandred, one of the group’s most powerful members. He was also the last to emerge as a major threat, as it took until the final book – A Memory of Light – for Demandred to pose a significant problem on his own. For that reason alone, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the show were to keep Demandred in its back pocket, holding him back for its final seasons.
An alternative option pertains to an old book theory about Mazrim Taim, a male channeler that the show has now referenced on multiple occasions. In the books, it was long suspected among fans that Mazrim Taim – a male channeler and a False Dragon – was secretly Demandred in disguise. Later books debunked this theory, though it’s no secret anymore that Robert Jordan did indeed for them to be the same person up until a certain point. Brandson Sanderson, the author who took over the series after Jordan’s death, has confirmed Jordan’s original plan for Demandred.
Jordan ultimately decided to make Demandred and Mazrim Taim separate, but the show could go down a different road. Given the number of characters that exist in the books, combining two into one doesn’t sound implausible. After all, the series has already expressed a willingness to merge Wheel of Time characters.
Asmodean
Asmodean Is Vital To Rand’s Future

Such an approach would be in line with the books. In The Shadow Rising, Asmodean wasn’t introduced under his own name; he first appeared as Jasin Natael, a gleeman who crossed paths with Rand’s group in the Aiel Waste. The Wheel of Time may decide to introduce him in a similar fashion, as he could appear as a seemingly harmless character in Rand’s company before turning out to be a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Further strengthening his odds of being the last Forsaken is the instrumental role he plays in Rand’s development as a channeler. At the end of The Shadow Rising, Asmodean becomes Rand’s reluctant instructor in the One Power. As this marks a pivotal moment in Rand’s journey, it’s hard to imagine it being written out of the story. Chances are, Asmodean will either be the last Forsaken or his role as Rand’s teacher will be given to another male Forsaken.
