The Warhammer 40,000 author has finally busted the biggest rumor surrounding Adeptus Custodes, and some gamers won’t be happy.
There’s no denying the fact that Warhammer 40k is one of the most unique science fiction universes we’ve ever seen. Overzealous humans are all up fighting for their survival in the dark ages of the far future against a range of deadly aliens and demons.
Fans of this iconic franchise participate in great debates on forums and discussion boards everywhere, disputing which factions are the most powerful and many other things. However, there is a rumor floating around that despite the official introduction, female Custodes aren’t part of the Warhammer universe, but the series’ author has finally bunked it.

These powerful soldiers have been a part of the franchise since Rogue Trader and were originally depicted as being a completely male force. However, the latest 10th-edition codex introduced us to Calladayce Taurovalia Kesh, who uses she/her pronouns.
The introduction of a female Custodes wasn’t received that well. Fans constantly bashed Games Workshop for introducing female Custodes and retconning the existing lore. Some even wondered that such a faction was even needed in the franchise.
However, with the release of Warhammer 40,000: The Ultimate Guide, many in the community felt that due to Custodes being referred to as “brotherhoods,” Games Workshop might’ve removed female Custodes altogether.
But that’s not the case. Gav Thorpe, one of the authors who worked on the book, was asked on Blue Sky if female Custodes are still a part of the franchise. He confirmed that they’re still a part of the franchise and smashed all rumors surrounding their introduction.
Now that it’s confirmed that female Custodes are here to stay, let’s hope Henry Cavill and his team don’t shy away from bringing them to the highly anticipated Warhammer 40k show.

If you’ve forgotten, back in 2022, Amazon MGM purchased the rights to the Warhammer 40k franchise and its adaptations. Fans were hyped as Cavill was also set to star and produce the series. However, for the next two years, we heard nothing, and it felt like the series wouldn’t make it out of production hell.
However, reports from Deadline suggest that the Warhammer 40k series is finally in development. Although we still don’t have a name for the showrunner, sources suggest that a mini writers room has been put together to kick off the story development.
Before this, we didn’t exactly know if Amazon’s adaptation would be in the form of a movie or TV show. However, it seems like it will be a full-fledged series.
This exciting news comes right before the deadline given by Games Workshop in its agreement with Amazon, which stated that the two companies must decide on creative guidelines if Amazon wishes to retain rights.
The fact that Cavill is attached to the project is probably the reason why both companies agreed to sort out their differences. He’s been a part of the franchise for a long time, and he’s keen to see it hitting the big screens.
