The sequel to 2017’s Kingdom Come Deliverance has surpassed every expectation that fans had from Warhorse Studio. Despite its controversies, the sequel is holding up great so far and shattering multiple records, living up to the team’s confidence.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has also had significant commercial success in addition to critical praise. Surpassing its previous record of 160K concurrent players, the game has reached a new peak, with 233K Steam users active simultaneously.
Why it matters: It’s great to see a former indie studio climb up and enjoy success on the level of big publishers. To have more than 230K players active in the game is a massive triumph for the studio.

While the player count has peaked at 233K so far, it’s continuing to climb up and will likely reach up to 250K players. Considering it’s the weekend, more players are expected to tune in within the next few hours.
These statistics are only for the PC release, and we can expect a similar number of players on the Xbox Series S|X and the PS5. Additionally, 130K players are watching live streams of the game on Twitch at the time of writing.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 recouped its development budget within a day of its release. Moreover, the game sold a million copies 14 times faster than its sequel, highlighting how far Warhorse Studio has come within just a few years.

Despite this great success, Warhorse Studio has faced some backlash on social media. Fans have complained about forced DEI elements, and the developers haven’t taken those comments lightly.
