Sometimes, attempting to blend the MCU with traditional Marvel lore ends up getting messy, and not in a fun way.
Fortunately for fans of both, this new MCU crossover appears to have worked out well.
It’s still early days, granted, but first impressions are positive from the Marvel community.
This is in stark contrast to the new MCU Spider-Man prequel which is dividing fans due to a controversial change to the hero’s origin.
In this surprise crossover, we’ll see Qwen Stacey’s Spider-Woman helping out with the TVA.
A preview of this upcoming comic series has been shared on the Marvel Studios subreddit.
Not only has sasuke5475298 given fans a preview of some of its pages, but they also revealed that the series takes place after Deadpool & Wolverine.
This information comes directly from writer Katharyn Blair, so we can rest easy in knowing its legitimate.
It makes a nice change not having to second guess everything.
Even those who typically shy away from these kinds of crossovers can’t help but be impressed by what they’ve seen.
Redditor GodFlintstone commented, “I hate the way Marvel Comics has leaned into corporate synergy with the MCU over the past several years, but I have to admit that this looks really good.”
“The MCU TVA concept and aesthetic is the best thing to come out of this whole Multiverse thing,” remarked Overall_Affect_2782.
Not to colour anyone’s opinions here, but the whole postmodern aesthetic is a highlight for us here at GAMINGbible as well.
Yet, there’s just enough difference between the two renditions to keep fans happy. Well, the majority of them anyway.
“Honestly with how different MCU and comics TVA is, I think this was a good call. Especially if they want to make use of the MCU exclusive characters like B-15 and OB,” posted Stripe-Gremlin.
Let’s hope everyone feels the same once they’ve read the first issue.
