Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has managed to nail this one aspect of video games Ubisoft is struggling with.
Disasters flow in when a game studio doesn’t follow up on their expectations from fans, something that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s developers won’t have to worry about. The recently released title by Warhorse Studios fortunately dodges the same fate as Assassin’s Creed Shadows by keeping it simple and sticking to accurate history.

Keeping your game historically accurate becomes a huge deal when you dial back the time in your game’s storyline. The latest Kingdom Come and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows are the perfect titles to contrast should you start judging how well a game executes dialed-back history.
How Kingdom Come: Deliverance Achieved accuracy in history representation
The extensive research makes Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 historically accurate | Warhorse Studios
Warhorse’s Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a game that takes you back to the 1400s, letting you explore the Middle Ages in a form you’d never experienced before. However, it took a lot of effort on the creators’ part to make sure everything was as accurate as it could possibly be.
Talking about how the Warhorse Studios’ team of historians worked on nailing down every aspect of the said era, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, a PR Manager for the company, revealed the following in an interview via Gamerant.
It wasn’t just about reconstructing its 1403 appearance, but also about researching what life was like in the town – how people lived and behaved, and who actually lived there, among many other details. To achieve this, our in-house historian ventured far and wide, collaborating with the town’s archives and with museums, universities, other historians, and various experts.
The manager ultimately reveals how every little detail of the said time was noted and taken care of properly while it was getting reconstructed within the engine. He unveils how the historian responsible for the whole ordeal had to collaborate with different institutions, including museums and universities, along with other experts to get it right.
Getting history right: How Assassin’s Creed Shadows might have failed miserably
Assassins Creed Shadows has been in a lot of controversies | Ubisoft
Everything has gone downhill for Ubisoft ever since Assassin’s Creed Shadows was first announced. The mere fact that the studio has chosen to focus on a black samurai in a Feudal Japan era is something that doesn’t sit right with many fans.
Furthermore, the research behind the story seems to be minimal. Assassin’s Creed was once known for being historically accurate, a title that it has unfortunately lost since.
The studio is undoubtedly working hard on getting things back on track with the upcoming game. However, with so many blunders already done, fans fear that there is no stopping down anytime soon.
