It’s been a decade since Jodie Foster and Alexandra Hedison tied the knot back in 2014. This star-studded couple has often kept their relationship away from the public eye, but when they do share their love with the world it is beautiful. Join us as we take a look back through four moments which melted our hearts with queer joy.
Jodie Foster’s speech at the 2024 Emmys
Earlier this year, Jodie Foster took home her very first (and well-deserved) Emmy for her role in True Detective: Night Country. Before taking to the stage, Jodie kissed Alexandra, leaving sapphics everywhere swooning at the beautiful declaration of love.
Taking to the stage, Jodie thanked her cast, the Iñupiat and Inuit people of northern Alaska, before turning to her beloved wife. She finished her speech by dedicating the win “to the love of my life, Alexandra Hedison, my wife.”
It’s like something taken straight out of a rom-com.
Alexandra taking a photo to commemorate Jodie’s Golden Globe nomination
If there’s one thing this couple knows how to do, it’s celebrate each other’s wins. Back in February 2021 – during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic – awards shows were happening pretty differently. But that didn’t stop Jodie Foster from getting the red carpet treatment when she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Mauritanian.
Alexandra, who is a professional photographer, did a special photoshoot to honour the nomination. Posting the intimate moment to Instagram, Alexandra wrote: “Every day I’m a proud wife but today you get a special shout-out in the remote land of IG. I’ll have to show you my phone for you to see this but still…I’m shouting from the rooftops.”
This is the epitome of #couplegoals.
When they created a short film together honouring non-binary creator Alok Vaid-Menon
You know you are a true power couple when you work together to create a powerful, moving short film together. This documentary follows the work and life of non-binary artist Alok Vaid-Menon, one of the most prominent non-binary creators. The film also stars creators like Dylan Mulvaney, Chani Nicholas, and other cultural change makers.
Every single time Alexandra posts for Jodie’s birthday
While Jodie stays quite clear of Instagram, Alexandra has been providing us with some beautiful couple content. One of the most heartwarming forms of this affection occurs every year on Jodie’s birthday, when Alexandra posts a candid snap with a beautiful message below.
Last year’s read: “Loving you is easy as cake. Happy birthday, beautiful ❤️”
